Diary: Celebs Join us at LIV & Ultra

26 Mar – LIV, Miami

This was by far one of the best parties of the Miami Music Week weekend. With good cause too, as we were all celebrating Erick Morillo’s birthday bash. LIV was sold out for weeks and you know what that means? The club was on like Donkey Kong.

We had the fantastic Ryan & Sunnery opening up, and they set the tone just right. They bring a fresh new sound that simply can’t be duplicated. Then the man himself arrived with all smiles. What more can you say when you have Naomi Campbell, Craig David, Chuckie, Shaggy, P Diddy, Sean Merriman, Rachael Starr, Caprice, Will I Am and more all hanging out with us?! I’ve never seen so many celebrities all in one small DJ booth – it was just amazing.

The crowd went bananas when Diddy performed as a surprise and Craig David also took to the stage and performed his soon to be released new single. Special thanks to David Grutman, Biz and the whole staff at LIV. The was an epic party.

27 Mar – Ultra Music Festival, Miami

Miami’s huge festival was the unveiling of Erick Morillo’s new ‘Subliminal Experience’ and visuals. We were playing main stage and the crowd was full of energy. This year Erick wanted to introduce the world to some of the new acts he is showcasing on his new album. With performances by Rachael Starr, Jessica Sutta and our very own Shawnee Taylor, it was an amazing show.

When Erick rocked up to the stage and started his new Subliminal Experience visual the crowd went insane! It was just sick to see on the big led wall behind Erick. We had a special performance from P-Diddy and all you can say it was just amazing! Erick played his heart out and from the looks of all the fans the loved every minute of it. special shout out go out Vello, Milo, Anastasia, Eugene, Helen, Charlie, Javier, The crew at Ultra, Subliminal family and of course the fans!

Diary: Unbelievable Start to 2011

31 Dec 2010 – Marquee, Las Vegas

The streets of Sin City were buzzing and I mean buzzing! Where else do you find the likes of Jay-Z, Chris Martin and Erick Morillo all performing underneath one roof? On top of that it was New Year’s Eve and every room at the brand new Cosmopolitan Hotel was sold out!

Marquee LV kicks off

This was the grand opening event for Vegas’s latest mega hotel and it’s spectacular nightclub, Marquee, where Erick will be a monthly resident throughout 2011.

The who’s who of night life was there, in fact the biggest names in sport, movies and fashion were all also in attendance too. This was THE hot ticket for NYE and the party in Marquee was packed out from the moment they opened the doors.

The venue is like no other, with a $3m DJ booth smack in front of the dancefloor and a LED screen that is 3 stories high with dancers on platforms all across it. OMG, they were amazing with their creativity and the countdown to midnight was underway at this beautiful venue.

Erick says Happy New Year

Before you knew it, 3….2….1…. Happy New Year! Boom! And Erick Morillo started his most anticipated set of the year. Erick has been working on this set for ages and was playing bootlegs, special re-edits and some devastating tracks that are not even signed yet. It was an amazing treat to see all his hard work pay off in such style.

Packed DJ booth

The crowd was totally into his every move, dancing with the man they most wanted to bring in their New Year. They wouldn’t leave either, so Erick carried on playing past 9am. You’ve probably already seen the pictures of the massive celebrity count attending this event, but in the DJ booth during Erick’s set we had Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, P Diddy, Kayne West and Jay-Z. That is how to bring in 2011 in memorable style!

02 Jan 2011 – Pink Elephant, Playa Del Carmen

We dropped by Marquee again in the evening of New Year’s Day to check out Kaskade who was ripping the place apart, then it was straight to the airport to head down to Mexico where the excellent BPM festival was already in full swing.

The city was just jumping, with loads of A-list DJs in town for this huge event. Erick was playing this beautiful club with exposed brick, high ceilings and an amazing sound.

Pink Elephant, Playa Del Carmen

Erick’s entire family had made the trip down too and they had the most amazing time. People were just dancing having a great time, still enjoying the buzz from the holidays and NYE. Jason Ojeda did a phenomenal job and set up Erick for probably his best set I’ve ever heard him play.

You had all the New Yorkers in attendance this evening and the staff were top notch. It was a perfect way to complete bringing in the New Year – a night that was full of energy but most of all full of friends and family.

Now it’s time for a well deserved 2 week vacation before the hectic 2011 calendar kicks off. See you guys in Brazil!

Video: Diddy & Erick Morillo at Pacha Ibiza

In case you hadn’t heard, P. Diddy, Erick Morillo and the Subliminal Sessions family threw a very special party earlier this month. This latest video is a taster of the amazing scenes that went down that night, including words from Erick, Carl Kennedy and Diddy himself.

Voodoo Nights can still be experienced each and every Wednesday until the end of September at Pacha, Ibiza. And with special guest Kelis performing live this week, can there be a more firing club experience anywhere in the word right now? Watch this video and you’ll be in no doubt!

Remember, you can download the Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick bootleg of ‘Hello Good Morning’ FREE (as featured in this video) as a special thankyou gift from Erick to all Subliminal fans.

Free Download of Diddy Bootleg

Here’s a little free gift for you – a download of Erick Morillo and Eddie Thoneick’s unreleased bootleg remix of P. Diddy’s ‘Hello Good Morning’.

They recorded it especially for last week’s phenomenal Voodoo Nights party with Diddy at Pacha Ibiza, but until now it’s only been in the hands of a few DJs.

Erick says, “Me and Eddie Thoneick made this bootleg and I’ve been playing it all summer. I also gave a copy to a very select group of DJ friends, including Roger Sanchez, Pete Tong, Tiesto and Steve Angello, who have also played it in their sets.

“Now, after the amazing success of our Voodoo Nights party with my man Diddy last week, I want to say thanks to everyone for supporting me and all the Subliminal artists by giving the track away. I hope you enjoy it. We’ve got some truly amazing plans for the coming months, so stay tuned!”

You can have the track at 320 kbps simply by clicking on the download button in the player above. Big love from Subliminal.
