Video: Subliminal Closing Party at Pacha

Oh my gosh, here we go for one final blast of the summer in Ibiza. Check out the scenes from our Closing Party at the end of last month, starting with Erick playing a wild sunset pre-party at the legendary Cafe Mambo, before heading over to Pacha where he, Harry Choo Choo Romero and ‘the voice of house music’, Shawnee Taylor, wow the crowds one more time.

Featuring some of the latest Subliminal Records releases plus commentary from Erick, some very excited clubbers and also highlights from the summer including Danny Tenaglia and Chuckie, this is a fitting way to sign off another amazing season at Pacha Ibiza.

If you were there anytime this summer, this one’s for you! See you all next year…

Diary: Kelis Live & SW4 Madness

Ibiza was buzzing yet again this week, with another ultra special Subliminal Sessions night on the cards, staring the amazing Kelis. We started off with a killer pre-party at Cafe Mambo and the excitement about the big night ahead was heavy in the air.

Erick at Mambo

Carl Kennedy opened up the night over the island at Pacha with style, as he always does, before passing things over to Dirty South. He totally ripped up, playing some very cool bootlegs.

Then came the big moment – Kelis performing live right in the thick of the action on the VIP stage. She rocked the house from the word go. She sang ‘Scream’, ‘4th July’, ‘Accapella’, ‘Spaceship’ and ‘Milkshake’ and had the crowd going bananas.

Kelis at Pacha

She worked them lovely, so by the time the resident Witch Doctor Erick played, the whole place was explosive. And Erick was playing just what the crowd wanted to hear. He also threw in a few new tracks, which went down very well, so look out for those autumn releases on Subliminal – it’s going to be as hot as summer!

So many big names came down to party with us too. There were cameos from Tiesto, Deadmau5, A21, Richard Grey, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Max Vangelli, and everyone was in the party spirit. A21 & Max have just dropped their great mix of ‘Nothing Better’ on Subliminal too, so there was plenty to celebrate from the young guys as well as the big hitters in the house, of course.

Pacha was packed all the way till 7am and the crowd wanted more but, like always, time flies when you’re having fun so we had to leave them hungry for more. Special thanks to all that showed up and made this another serious party. Five more weeks left, Ibiza!

Plato 68, Marbella

For Friday, we moved over to Plato 68 in Marbella on the Spanish mainland. It’s a two-level nightclub with wrap around staircases and balconies overlooking the dancefloor. The DJ booth is smack in the middle of the floor and the night started off very busy. So when Erick stepped into the DJ booth it erupted like a volcano. All you could see were hands trying to touch him and fans just trying to snap a photo of their DJ icon. It was an amazing sight!

The dancers were shaking their asses all night long. One told me they have not danced like that in a long time. Special thanks to Jordi, Paty and all the fans that came out that night. See you in Ibiza!

SW4 London

Saturday daytime we were over in the UK for one of the most anticipated events of the summer, the massive SW4 festival on Clapham Common right in the middle of London.

As we arrived the streets were packed, check that, RAMMED! The festival was packed with a great line up, which saw Pete Tong and Laidback Luke on before Erick’s peaktime afternoon set, with Sasha and Armin taking things into the evening. There must have been about 50,000 fans screaming their heads off out in front of the main stage. Wow, what a vibe and so much energy!

SW4 Morillo Madness

Erick’s intro set them going, “Erick Morillo is in the house, yeah!”, and he followed that straight with ‘Live Your Life’, and people went nuts. Erick was untouchable this day, dropping all sorts of crowd-pleasers including Queen ‘We Are The Champions’ and a huge bootleg of ‘Jump Around’ by House of Pain. He crushed this festival with all the music he hit them with. It was a quickie, but a memorable. London, we’ll see you soon…

As ever, there are loads more photos in the Photos section
